NOVEMBER 24, 2008--Starting Jan. 1, 2009, all four subsidiaries of the group -- Stemmer Imaging GmbH in Germany, Firstsight Vision in the UK, Stemmer Imaging Schweiz AG in Switzerland, and IMASYS S.A.S. in France -- will trade under the name Stemmer Imaging.

NOVEMBER 24, 2008--Image-processing technology provider The Stemmer Imaging Group (Puccheim, Germany; www.stemmer-imaging.com) first appeared in the imaging market under its current name on July 1, 2004. Starting Jan.

Stemmer Imaging expects that for Firstsight Vision and IMASYS, in particular, this will not be an easy transition because both companies are known under their current names in their respective countries. Still, Mark Williamson, director of sales and marketing at Firstsight Vision, sees this change in a very positive light. "Membership of the Stemmer Imaging Group has led to considerable improvements for our customers in the United Kingdom," says Williamson, pointing to optimized logistics and the large central warehouse, which has resulted in greater availability of products and faster delivery for his customers. "The fact that Firstsight Vision will be named Stemmer Imaging from January is just a consistent step in this process and underlines the joint strength of our companies."

Mithridate Mahmoudi, managing director of French partner IMASYS, is also looking forward to the change. "Shifting many administrative tasks from Paris to Puchheim meant that we were able to focus much more on looking after our French customers in an optimum manner. Since then IMASYS has developed well, which shows that our customers have benefited greatly from the advantages of the group over the last few years."

In Switzerland, Claudio Sager, recently appointed managing director of Stemmer Imaging Schweiz AG, says, "This shared name expresses even more clearly what was basically already a fact anyway. Our customers in Switzerland will be more aware of the direct link to the biggest vendor of imaging products in Europe with over 120 employees and annual revenue of well over 40 million euros. This gives them the certainty they want."
