SEPTEMBER 24, 2009--Photonfocus (Lachen, Switzerland; www.photonfocus.com has announced that Marcel J. Krist has been appointed chairman of the board of directors, effective Sept. 1, 2009.
Krist joined Photonfocus in January 2007 as CEO with the mandate to evaluate and reset the company's business strategy. Under the strategic direction of Krist, the team at Photonfocus focuses on three key growth areas: development of leading-edge products, sustainable expansion of the global customer base and promotion of strategic partnerships. Despite the challenges of the current market environment, Photonfocus continues to move forward in the machine-vision industry with the development of products such as the A1312 CMOS sensor and cameras in monochrome, color, and NIR.
"In addition to managing the company as CEO, I am excited to head the board of directors to further drive sustainable growth and the strategic direction of this highly innovative Swiss company," says Krist.
Photonfocus has also appointed Milko Kostadinov as sales and marketing manager. Kostadinov is responsible for maintaining and building the company's global network of distributors and for implementing its growth strategy together with the sales and marketing team.
