Hamburg, Germany-based Körber Group has reported that it is buying the company Seidenader Maschinenbau, Markt Schwaben (near Munich). Seidenader is a manufacturer of inspection machines, software, and vision applications for pharmaceutical production. Körber says it is using the acquisition to boost its growing Pharmaceutical Packaging Systems Division headed by Körber Medipak.

Körber Medipak is a supplier of comprehensive packaging systems for the pharmaceutical industry, providing packaging and automation solutions for medical dosage forms. Seidenader’s inspection systems for the healthcare industry represent an important addition to the spectrum of services offered by the Körber Medipak Group, say the companies.

Seidenader’s two previous managing partners, Nikolaus Seidenader and Volker Wedershoven, will continue to head the company as managing directors.

"We are delighted that with Seidenader, an innovative company with very interesting technologies, we will be able to further expand our activities in the healthcare market of the future," says Körber’s CEO Richard Bauer.

"Seidenader dovetails perfectly with Körber Medipak’s companies. Together we will be able to exploit additional growth opportunities," adds Gerhard Breu, CEO of Körber Medipak and member of the Körber executive board.
