dual image sensor reference design

Working in conjunction with Aptina Imaging (San Jose, CA, USA), engineers at Lattice Semiconductor (Hillsboro, OR, USA) have developed a dual image sensor reference design for 3-D vision applications.

The design uses two Aptina MT9M024 or MT9M034 CMOS digital image sensors. Data from the image sensors are synchronized and merged onto one bus by a Lattice MachXO2 PLD and a small SDRAM chip in a format that an integrated signal processor (ISP) can accept.

Aside from 3-D applications, Lattice Semiconductor claims that the cost of the solution will enable engineers to develop systems for many consumer applications such as automotive black box drive recorders and surround view cameras.
