Digital CCD/CMOS camera and systems developerJAI (San Jose, CA, USA) has acquired TVI Vision (Helsinki, Finland), a company which has developed and manufactured color linescan cameras for industrial machine vision applications since 1993.

TVI Vision's color linescan cameras employ a prismatic beamsplitter to ensure a separation of the three RGB color channels. ThreeCCD linear sensors are bonded to the respective color output ports of the prism enabling independent detection of the red, green and blue signals.

Under the terms of the acquisition, TVI Vision will continue to operate as an independent entity under the umbrella of JAI with its own sales channel and production in Helsinki.

JAI has a global presence through companies in Denmark, Germany, Japan, and USA, and via distribution partners in more than 35 countries.
