Neon-CLQ Quad is a Camera Link/power over Camera Link (PoCL) frame grabber that provides interfaces for four cameras plus I/O, requiring a single PCIe slot. Four cameras can be independently operated with different resolutions, frame rates, and triggering modes or synchronized. It is a "half-size" x4 PCIe board employing FlowThru technology to minimize image latency and guarantee zero CPU usage for image capture. Cameras up to 24 bits at 85-MHz pixel clock are supported. The supporting BitFlow software development kit (SDK) provides drivers, DLLs, and configuration utilities for those interested in using third-party software.

BitFlow Reduces Cost of Machine Vision Systems with Neon-CLQ Four Camera Frame Grabber

WOBURN, MA -- BitFlow, Inc., a developer of machine vision technology, is offering a cost-effective alternative to purchasing IP network cameras with its Neon-CLQ Quad, a Camera Link/PoCL frame grabber that provides interfaces for four cameras plus I/O yet requires only a single low-cost PCIe slot. All four cameras can be independently operated with different resolutions, frame rates and triggering modes, or they can be perfectly synchronized.

"The four camera version of our popular Neon frame grabber is amazingly versatile and powerful," explained Donal Waide, Director of Sales, Bitflow. "Not only is it aggressively priced, but it promotes added cost savings with its ability to connect four Camera Link cameras to a single frame grabber. At a competitively low price per camera, the Neon-CLQ can compete with main-stream network cameras, while still providing all the robust industrial features expected when using a frame grabber."

As with the single- and dual-camera versions of the Neon-CL, the new quad supports PoCL (Power over Camera Link) cameras and is backwards compatible with non-PoCL cameras and cables. It also supplies Safe Power with full protection to the frame grabber and PC from all CL power line faults.

The Neon-CLQ board is a "half size" x4 PCIe board. Like all BitFlow frame grabbers, it uses BitFlow's FlowThru technology, which minimizes image latency and guarantees zero CPU usage for image capture. Cameras up to 24 bits at 85 MHz pixel clock are supported.

The Neon-CLQ is supported by the BitFlow Software Development Kit (SDK), which is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows platforms. The SDK is board family generic, and will work with all BitFlow current and future frame grabbers. The kit provides drivers, DLLs and configuration utilities for customers interested in using third party software.

For customers interested in developing their own applications, the SDK offers header files, libraries and huge amounts of example code. There is wide range of Application Programming Interfaces (API), from low-level direct hardware access to high-level automatic buffer management (ring or sequence).
