Vincent Associates adds new single-shutter-blade devices for cameras

March 4, 2013
The RS20 device from Vincent Associates features a single shutter blade and a rectangular aperture (20-mm diagonal) for use in space-constrained camera applications. The TS2B shutter is a bi-stable 2-mm-aperture device.

The RS20 device features a single shutter blade and a rectangular aperture (20-mm diagonal) based on the patented actuator employed in TS shutter devices with the same low-profile design for use in space-constrained camera applications. The RS20 shutter has an integrated H-Bridge driver; a four-pin connector supplies input voltage and TTL level open and close trigger signals, requiring no additional drive electronics. All shutter and driver components are contained within the device, providing two flat surfaces for mounting with no component obstructions. The TS2B shutter is a bi-stable 2-mm-aperture device. The new shutter will be compatible with ED12DSS, VDM1000, and soon to be released VED24 shutter controllers. In line with previous TS devices, the shutter features a single shutter blade and is designed as a low-profile flag shutter alternative.

NEW PRODUCT PRESS RELEASE

See Vincent Associates at the SPIE Photonics West 2013 in San Francisco, California

We will be attending the SPIE Photonics West 2013 conference in San Francisco, California. Visit our booth, #729, at The Moscone Center February 5-7, 2013, to see our newest developments, including new devices such as our RS20 and TS2B.

The RS20 is a new style of device that features a single shutter blade and a rectangular aperture (20mm diagonal). The device is based on the patented actuator pioneered in our TS devices and maintains the same low profile design. Another impressive feature of this device is an integrated H-Bridge driver. A four-pin connector supplies input voltage and TTL level open and close trigger signals; no other drive electronics are required. All shutter and driver components are completely contained within the device providing two flat surfaces for mounting with no component obstructions. Visit the booth for a demonstration of this new device and to speak to our representatives regarding features and availability.

Another new device that will be on display is the TS2B shutter. This shutter is the newest addition to the TS line of shutters joining the TS2S and TS6B. The TS2B is a bi-stable 2mm aperture device. The new shutter will be compatible with our ED12DSS, VDM1000 and soon to be released VED24 shutter controllers. As is typical with previous TS devices, the shutter features a single shutter blade and is designed as a low profile flag shutter alternative.

We are also pleased to announce the anticipated release of the UHS25 and ULS25 devices. These devices feature a one-inch aperture that includes a shutter as well as a motorized variable iris. The device is precisely machined to meet the Copal 0 form factor including the associated lens threads. The UHS25 features a high-speed shutter capable of reaching speeds as fast as 1/250th of a second. The ULS25 is equipped with a slower version of the shutter that is designed for extended lifetime. The stepper motor driven iris contains five blades with 172 discrete steps. These devices mark the first time a motorized iris and electromechanical shutter have been integrated within a UNIBLITZ device. These devices are currently available by special order; stop by the booth for more information.

We look forward to seeing you at the SPIE Photonics West 2013!
