ON Semiconductor introduces PYTHON series of CMOS image sensors

April 25, 2014
ON Semiconductor has announced the release of the first models in the new PYTHON CMOS image sensor family.

ON Semiconductor has announced the release of the first models in the new PYTHON CMOS image sensor family. With 0.3M Pixel (PYTHON 300), 0.5 MPixel (PYTHON 500), and 1.3 MPixel (PYTHON 1300) models, the new sensors are designed specifically for industrial image sensing applications. The PYTHON 300 is a ¼” VGA CMOS sensor with a pixel array of 640 x 480 and a pixel size of 4.8 µm x 4.8 µm that achieves a frame rate of 840 fps. The PYTHON 500 sensor is a 1/3” SVGA CMOS sensor with a pixel array of 800 x 600 and a pixel size of 4.8 µm x 4.8 µm that achieves a frame rate of 560 fps. Lastly, the PYTHON 1300 is a ½” SXGA CMOS sensor with a pixel array of 1280 x 1024 and a pixel size of 4.8 µm x 4.8 µm that achieves a frame rate of 210 fps. PYTHON sensors are suitable for use in machine vision, inspection, security and surveillance, and intelligent transportation applications.
