Headwall Photonics has announced the release of its Nano-Hyperspec sensor, which operates in the VNIR (400-1000nm) spectral range and is designed for use in small, hand-launched unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The CMOS sensor features a 640 x 480 focal plane array format with a 7.4 µm x 7.4 µm pixel size that achieves a maximum frame rate of 480 fps. The Nano-Hyperspec also features onboard data processing and storage and features 640 spatial bands and 270 spectral bands at a resolution of 2-3 nm. In addition, the sensor has a GigE interface, a 17 mm lens, a 15.9° field of view, and a storage capacity of 480GB. Nano-Hyperspec sensors are suitable for use in UAV applications, including environmental monitoring or agricultural tasks.
