In an effort to develop new cutting-edge products for the machine vision industry, Datalogic has entered into a partnership agreement with Austrian automation company B&R.
An upcoming product series that this collaboration is set to produce will leverage B&R’s Automation PC 910 for Datalogic’s next generation of vision processors, the UX Series. The Automation PC 910 is an industrial PC based on 3rd generation Core i-series processors that provide multi-core processors with an integrated graphics unit. It features two GigE ports, up to five PCI / PCI Express ports, and four USB 3.0 ports.
The UX Series, which will be released in the fall, combines the application and performance advantages of Datalogic’s IMPACT software with the Automation PC 910. IMPACT software features more than 120 software tools that allow users to create unique verification and inspection programs, and to develop new user interfaces. Its Control Panel Manager also allows users to make on-the-fly adjustments for immediate tuning of control parameters.
In addition to managing up to four cameras via USB 3.0, the UX Series will offer three configurations of image processing capabilities and will support a wide variety of USB 3.0 cameras. In addition, the new product line will be optimized for integration into standard factory networks and secondary software packages, will support multiple camera formats and resolutions on the same vision processor, and will offer a software tool set for programming and configuration.
In a press release, Donato Montanari, Machine Vision BU General Manager at Datalogic, offered his optimism.
"The Datalogic / B&R partnership opens new horizons for the world of industrial vision," he said. "The new UX family dramatically improves the performance of our vision systems, already among the most effective and efficient on the machine vision market."
