Placing a stronger focus on North and Latin America, Xenics has announced a number of staffing moves that expand and reposition its corporate setup on a worldwide scale.

The first of these moves—which are being made to strengthen the company’s international sales and marketing reach—is the appointment of Hervé Copin as CEO of Xenics USA, Inc. in Boston, MA. After serving for more than two years as European Sales Manager and increasing the reach of Xenics' distribution network across Western and Eastern Europe, Copin is now tasked with further broadening Xenics' competitive positions throughout North and Latin America, extending the sales channels in both areas. Copin holds a master’s degree in physics from the Catholic University of Louvain, focusing on solid material science and electromagnetic optics, and a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Namur. Before joining Xenics in 2011, he served as Vice President of Sales for the Belgian frame grabber vendor Euresys.

In addition, Myriam Gillisjans, who had previously held the position of Xenics Marketing Manager in Leuven, Belgium, will relocate to Xenics USA in Boston as Marketing Manager for North and Latin America. In her new position she will be in direct proximity to Xenics' growing customer base in the Americas, with the company now committing substantial resources in a major shift of its marketing activities from Europe to the U.S.

Lastly, Francky Demeester, a former Senior Vice President of Sales from a major imaging company, joins Xenics as the new Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Worldwide, operating out of Xenics’ headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. In this role, Demeester is tasked with guiding the Xenics sales force in various world regions to realize the next level of future growth for the company.

"We are delighted to have Hervé Copin and Francky Demeester taking on new lines of duty in markets that are very important to us," said Bob Grietens, founder and CEO of Xenics NV. "They are the best persons to significantly expand our market share in the world and in the Americas. We are eager to contribute our innovative image capture and machine vision technology to a very competitive marketplace as it perfectly fits the rapidly progressing vision applications."
