The AIA announced that it will host its first Canadian machine vision conference in Ottawa, ON, Canada from October 5-7 at the National Research Council’s downtown Ottawa location.

The conference will feature in-depth presentations on such topics as machine vision research, emerging applications, getting started with machine vision, 3D vision, non-visible imaging, smart cameras and vision sensors, vision-guided robotics, advances in camera technology, machine vision software, and industrial inspection. Additionally, the inaugural conference will include tabletop exhibits featuring leading imaging companies showcasing a range of technologies.
"We’re looking forward to helping Canadian companies gain a better understanding of how vision and imaging technologies can help them become stronger global competitors," said Jeff Burnstein, President of AIA.
Included at the event is an opportunity to tour the National Research Council’s (NRC) Imaging Laboratories, which will include walkthroughs of the NRC’s Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre, Visualization Room, and Imaging Laboratory.
Like most other AIA events, its Certified Vision Professional (CVP) training will be available for basic level training and certification. The training, which will take place October 5-6, will include a number of courses related to machine vision and image processing.
Just last week, the AIA announced it would hold its first Vision in Life Sciences Conference, which will feature in-depth presentations on cutting edge vision technologies used in life sciences applications.
The event will be held November 19 at the Marriott Hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter area of downtown San Diego and is set to cover such technologies as cameras and image sensors, imaging optics, lasers, lighting sources, and optical filters. It will also include tabletop exhibits from leading companies in the industry looking to showcase the latest vision and imaging technologies in the life sciences industry.
