IDS Imaging Development Systems has announced that Daniel Seiler, former chief operating officer, will take over the role of CEO, a position previously held by Torsten Wiesinger, who will now focus on expanding the business.

Seiler joined IDS in 2005 and has been involved in the company’s development since.

"With Daniel Seiler's extensive experience in this industry IDS gets a CEO who has been involved in IDS' development for 10 years and has already significantly influenced the company by setting up our US business," said Jürgen Hartmann, company founder and managing partner. "In Obersulm he will primarily take care of the production, purchase and logistics departments and infrastructure."

Seiler, according to Hartmann, is the perfect complement to Wiesinger, who will focus on the development of new products as well as on the expansion of international sales structures.

"Preparing for further growth and building on our strengths are our tasks to continue playing a pioneering role in the market," declares Wiesinger.

In 2014, IDS achieved a sales increase of approximately 20%, year over year, and in 2015, the company expects similar growth. This past March, IDS achieved a record amount of incoming orders for industrial cameras of approximately 6.5 million Euro. As a result, IDS is aiming at 20% year over year growth once again.

Hartmann suggests that the company’s culture plays a key role in its success, and Seiler agreed.

"IDS remains true to itself, through all the changes. I will contribute to keeping our work enjoyable while doing what we do best: building good cameras and providing the best user experience in the vision market," he said.
