MATRIX VISION expands global presence

MATRIX VISION has appointed Andy Ward as Sales Manager for the United Kingdom and Ireland in a move that reflects the company’s goal of offering local support to its growing customer base. 

MATRIX VISION has appointed Andy Ward as Sales Manager for the United Kingdom and Ireland in a move thatreflects the company’s goal of offering local support to its growing customer base.

Ward (pictured) has more more than 20 years of experience in product and key account management in the UK in industrial automation and control markets, including machine vision. He will provide will provide commercial, application, and technical support to existing and new customers as MATRIX VISION continues to release new cameras into these markets.

MATRIX VISION recently announced the addition of a number of models that will include Sony’s latest CMOS image sensors in the company’s mvBlueCOUGAR-XD (Dual-GigE) and mvBlueFOX3-2 (USB3 Vision) lines. The 3.2 MPixel IMX252, which features a 3.45 µm pixel size, will be available in the mvBlueCOUGAR-XD104h and mvBlueFOX3-2032, while the 5.1 MPixel IMX250, which also features a 3.45 µm pixel size, will be available in the mvBlueCOUGAR-XD105a and mvBlueFOX3-2051. Samples of the cameras will be available in Q3 2015, while the cameras will officially launch in Q1 2016.

In the USB3 Vision models, the IMX250 (mvBlueFOX3-2051) is able to achieve a maximum frame rate of 60 fps, while the IMX252 (mvBlueFOX3-2032) can reach a frame rate of 100 fps. In the GigE Vision models, the IMX250 (mvBlueCOUGAR-XD105a) can achieve a frame rate of 48 fps, while the IMX252 (mvBlueCOUGAR-XD104h), can reach a frame rate of 76 fps.
