Infrared camera from Xenics achieves 800 fps speed

Nov. 19, 2015
Xenics has announced the launch of an 800 Hz (800 fps) version of its Cheetah-640-CL SWIR camera, which fills the gap between the currently available 400 Hz and 1730 Hz versions.

Xenics has announced the launch of an 800 Hz (800 fps) version of its Cheetah-640-CL SWIR camera, which fills the gap between the currently available 400 Hz and 1730 Hz versions. The main advantage of the 800 Hz version over the faster 1730 Hz version, according to Xenics, is the ability to output 12-bit images via a standard Camera Link medium interface. The thermoelectrically-cooled Camera Link camera features a 640 x 512InGaAs Focal Plane Array (FPA) with a 20 µm pixel size and Capacitor TransImpedance Amplifier (CTIA) topology and is sensitive in the 0.9 μm to 1.7 μm range (VisNIR optional 0.4 to 1.7 μm). The Cheetah-640-CL camera is designed specifically for high speed imaging in the SWIR band.
