Autofocus lenses and modules from Varioptic to be showcased at Photonics West 2016

On display at the Varioptic booth at SPIE Photonics West 2016 will be the Caspian family of variable focus liquid lenses and modules, which are suitable for use in machine vision camera applications, including automated inspection, barcode reading, biometrics, and medical imaging.

On display at the Varioptic booth at SPIE Photonics West 2016 will be the Caspian family of variable focus liquid lenses and modules, which feature no moving parts, an unlimited number of cycles, and low power consumption. Caspian autofocus lens modules combines a fixed focus objective, a liquid lens, and a flex cable into a standard mount barrel, and are designed for integration into standard camera boards. One such model is the M12-39N0-15.8, which at 15.8 mm effective focal length, is the longest model offered. This module features a built-in Arctic 39N0 liquid lens, is compatible with up to 1/3" image sensors, and offers a motionless focus range from 7 cm to infinity. These lenses are suitable for use in machine vision camera applications, including automated inspection, barcode reading, biometrics, and medical imaging.
