Stemmer Imaging to distribute hyperspectral imaging products from Perception Park

Stemmer Imaging and Austrian hyperspectral imaging company Perception Park have signed a cooperation agreement for the distribution of imaging systems based on chemical color imaging (CCI) technology.

Stemmer Imaging and Austrian hyperspectral imaging company Perception Park have signed a cooperation agreement for the distribution of imaging systems based on chemical color imaging (CCI) technology.

Perception Park’s CCI technology combines the advantages of the basic technologies of chemical imaging (hyperspectral imaging) and color image processing, and makes chemical material properties accessible to a new range of users through new approaches to data processing.

Additionally, Perception Park’s software data processing platform provides encapsulated scientific methods of hyperspectral analysis accessible to all users. The software works in real time while processing more than 200 million spectral points per second. Industrial cameras from various manufacturers using Camera Link and GigE interfaces can be used with the platform, which is now available from all Stemmer Imaging subsidiaries.

CCI systems, according to a press release, are particular suitable for use in such applications as food processing, recycling, mining, the pharmaceutical industry, and in the medical field.

“We have already managed to capture a human hand and visualize the blood vessels inside using CCI and a hyperspectral system,” said Markus Burgstaller, CEO at Perception Park.

Jörg Schmitz, sales contact for CCI systems at Stemmer Imaging, commented: “We see very interesting opportunities for the application of hyperspectral systems. We already have specific ideas for providing our customers with reliable solutions for tasks that seemed to be insoluble up to now.”

Hyperspectral imaging systems from Stemmer Imaging based on Perception Park’s software technology will be presented at the first Conference on Hyperspectral Imaging in Industry (CHII 2016) from June 15-16 in Graz, Austria, as well as at Automatica from June 21-24 in Munich, Germany.
