On display at Photometrics / QImaging booth at The Vision Show 2016 in Boston from May 3-5 will be the QI Series of scientific CCD cameras. The QI series cameras, the QI674 (2.8 MPixel), QI695 (6 MPixel) and QI825 (1.4 MPixel) all feature CCD image sensors, full flexibility over image readout patterns and signal binning along with deep cooling that eliminates dark current noise. Also on display will be the Photometric Prime camera (pictured) which features is designed for life science research. Prime features a 4.2 MPixelsCMOS image sensor and dual USB 3.0 and PCI Express interfaces, which can achieve frame rates of 30 fps and 100 fps, respectively. The camera, which features air and liquid cooling, also has an FPGA-based “intelligent” embedded signal processing engine, including PrimeEnhance, which reduces the negative effects of photon shot-noise and provides a 3-5X increase in signal to noise ratio, as well as PrimeLocate, which actively detects and transfer only those regions containing localized data, lowering data storage requirements on the host PC.
