Gardasoft Vision Ltd—a 2016 Innovators Awards gold-level honoree—has been acquired by OPTEX CO. LTD (OPTEX) of Japan, and will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of OPTEX.
Founded in 1999 by Peter and Jane Bhagat, Gardasoft Vision Limited specializes in the design and manufacture of pulse-strobe controllers for LED lighting and high-intensity LED illuminators for such markets as machine vision and intelligent traffic. It’s most recent innovation, triniti, is an intelligent lighting technology that provides expert control, operational intelligence, and full integration of machine vision lighting, all within a plug-and-plug environment.
Based in Cambridge, UK, Gardasoft is a global business with the leading share of its sales in Europe, though there is strong, continuing demand for its products in North America and Asia.
The Optex Group is a global solutions provider that, according to the company, "never stops inventing to create a safe, secure, and comfortable society." The group also has Optex FA Limited, which serves the factory automation sector and has an established business in LED lighting and lighting control systems. The group has sales of £180m and is looking to grow its business and expand its product offering to its global customer base.
As part of OPTEX, Gardasoft will be able to extend the applications of its Triniti technology. Fundamentally, Gardasoft’s management structure remains unchanged with Hilary Briggs as MD and Peter Bhagat continuing full time with his product and technology role within the business. Gardasoft Vision will also continue to trade and promote under its existing name and branding.
