VISION AWARD call for papers open until July 21

Every other year at the VISION show in Stuttgart, Germany, the VISION AWARD prize is given out to recognize outstanding machine vision innovation in the industry. Applicants interested in the 22nd annual award program can now submit their papers until July 21, 2016.

Every other year at the VISION show in Stuttgart, Germany, the VISION AWARD prize is given out to recognize outstanding machine vision innovation in the industry. Applicants interested in the 22nd annual award program can now submit their papers until July 21, 2016.

Interested parties are urged by the event organizers to submit an abstract of no more than four pages. The jury of machine vision experts, which is listed below, will draw up a short list of the most interesting entries, and select a winner from this list. In addition to the 5,000 Euro prize, the winner will have the opportunity to present their innovation during the VISION press conference at this year’s show, which will be held November 8-10.

The judges panel will consist of:

  • Jens Michael Carstensen, Videometer A/S
  • Michael Engel, Vision Components
  • Gabriele Jansen, Vision Ventures
  • Roland Mueller, Vision Markets UG
  • Dr. Christian Ripperda, ISRA Vision AG
  • Martin Wäny, Awaiba Lda.
  • Dieter-Josef Walter, Daimler AG

Evaluation criteria for the award consists of:

  • Formal quality of submission
  • Technological requirement
  • Novelty of applications and degree of innovation
  • Significance for the machine vision industry
  • Significance for the end user
