Industrial automation and robotics expert sets to once again gather at AUTOMATICA 2016

International experts in industrial automation, robotics, and machine vision will once again gather for AUTOMATICA, which is held June 21-24 in Munich. 

International experts in industrial automation, robotics, and machine vision will once again gather for AUTOMATICA, which is held June 21-24 in Munich.

Held every two years, AUTOMATICA will feature six exhibition halls that will cover integrated assembly solutions, industrial and professional service robots, machine vision, positioning systems, software, services and service providers, research and technology, and technologies related to drive, sensors, control systems, safety, and supply.

The show is designed to bring specialists and executives in all branches of industry together to learn about the latest developments relate to the topics above, as well as learn how you can further automate your production process to cut costs and improve quality. Among the products attendees can expect to learn about are industrial cameras,machine vision software,3D vision for robots, Industry 4.0 solutions,smart cameras, and high-speed cameras.

Supporting the program is STARTUP WORLD, which gives aspiring startups, industry representatives, and investors a unique marketplace for innovations. STARTUP WORLD will feature the STARTUP WORLD Market marketplace area, as well as the STARTUP WORLD Award, which honors innovative ideas in service robotics and industrial automation, and gives attendees, investors, and customers the opportunity to experience them up close. The winner of the award receives an extensive marketing package and a cash prize of EUR 5,000. Lastly, STARTUP WORLD will feature the STARTUP WORLD Stage, which will provide a series of technical lectures targeting startups, industry representatives, and investors in the sectors for service robotics and automation.

At the last show in 2014, nearly 35,000 trade visitors from 100 countries, as well as 724 exhibitors from 42 countries, gathered at the show. This year, Armin Wittmann, Exhibition Group Director of AUTOMATICA, expects approximately 825 exhibitors, with new trends emerging.

"One thing is already clear today," he wrote in the AUTOMATICA Innovation Guide. "The megatrends of Industry 4.0, IoT, and human-robot collaboration are launching a new area in automation."

At AUTOMATICA, he noted, many companies will debut and shwocase products designed to serve these growing industries.
