Not long ago, "high-speed imaging" was a term that referred to a specific type of camera, but today, the term is often attached to a number of different components used in imaging, and as a result, is often overused, if not misused.
Understanding this, we’ve put together a webcast featuring expert speakers Jon Chouinard, VP of Business Development,1st Vision Inc, and Peter Carellas, President of Xcitex Inc., that provide insight on when “high speed” should be used, relative to applications and technology.
Chouinard will touch on the various technologies and components that are commonly used in the market, and will discuss how high-speed imaging systems are created from high-speed components. He will also touch on the various applications in high-speed imaging, the various off-the-shelf products, interfaces, sensor types, and software available for cameras that run at high frame rates.
From there, Carellas will discuss “traditional” high-speed imaging” cameras for capture of fast transient events. This will include a discussion on systems that are too fast for off-the-shelf standardized technology, black box systems, image storage, and the impact of high-speed modes in cameras from companies such as GoPro, Apple, and other consumer products. He will also talk about higher-end cameras designed around off-the-shelf sensors or proprietary sensors, while providing examples for such cameras.
