With an eye toward addressing the engineering and product development needs of the region, Edmund Optics has announced the opening of an office in Silicon Valley.

Led by William (Bill) Dover, Director of Business Development, the Silicon Valley office will feature a state-of-the-art lab for testing and system development, as well as a classroom for customers attending regularly scheduled training courses. Dover, a veteran of the photonics and optics industries, has been with Edmund Optics since 2000 and has extensive experience in technical sales, applications and business development, program management, and project engineering in a career spanning more than 25 years.

“While semiconductors continue to be a driving force in Silicon Valley, this region has become an innovation hub for many industries including life sciences, biomedical, automotive and wearable technology,” says Greg Hollows, Director, Imaging Business Unit, Edmund Optics. “Our customer base continues to show strong growth because of the increasingly important role that optics plays in these applications. By opening this office, we’re ensuring that we can provide the highest caliber of support to our current and future partners in Silicon Valley while remaining at the forefront of optics technology.”
