Oct. 11, 2016
Association chapter meeting to focus on automated and manual X-ray inspection technologies.

At the final 2016 meeting for the Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA) Capital Chapter, the group will focus on automated X-ray (AXI) and manual X-ray inspection(MXI) technologies.

John Travis, Sales Manager, Nordson Dage (pictured) will present “AXI and MXI; How They Complement Each Other,” which will examine AXI technology and provide examples of its many uses, and will take a look at how AXI and MXI work in tandem to allow complete confidence in your inspection process. Additionally, the presentation will provide attendees with information on how to interpret printed circuit board-level defects using digital high-resolution X-ray, while also detailing the many different types of solder-related defects.

Travis will also touch on what can be accomplished using today’s high magnification, high resolution digital X-ray systems and offer recommendations for proper inspection techniques, including a live demonstration. The event will take place at Zentech in Baltimore, MD, USA on November 10.
