At VISION 2016 in Stuttgart from November 8-10, Pleora Technologies will launch its iPORT NTx-NBT GigE Vision over NBASE-T Embedded Video Interface. The interface brings the bandwidth and Cat5e cabling advantages of NBASE-T technology to the vision industry. The interface transmits uncompressed high-bandwidth GigE Vision-compliant images at speeds of up to 5 Gb/s over Cat5e at distances of up to 100 m and features line scan and area scan modes. Additionally, the GigE Vision 2.0-compliant interface features a 1 GB DDR3 frame buffer to accommodate multi-mega pixel images, has updateable firmware via the NBASE-T port, and is GenICam compliant. Pleora notes that X-Ray flat panel detector and camera manufacturers are already designing the NBASE-T video interface into imaging devices for medical and machine vision applications.
