SICK AppSpace, an open platform for programmable sensors from SICK, offers systems integrators and OEMs the ability to develop an application directly on a programmable SICK sensor. The AppSpace, which will be showcased at VISION 2016, unifies softwareand hardware and consists of two elements: the programmable SICK sensors, and SICK AppStudio, a development system for applications. AppStudio offers programming options and services and offers access to the SICK software toolbox and image processing libraries such as HALCON. Thanks to Lua scripting, with integrated development support such as auto completion, the app development for the sensors can be inserted easily, according to SICK, into existing development processes.
