At VISION 2016, Varioptic, a business unit of Parrot Drones, will showcase its Arctic 16F variable focus liquid lens, which the company says is the smallest commercially-available liquid lens in the world. With a 6.2 mm out diameter and a 1.6 mm clear aperture, the lens is specifically designed for ultra-compact cameras such as barcode readers and endoscopes. With an operating temperature of -30°C to +85°C, and 20 diopters of dynamic range, it can support a wide range of applications, including harsh environment applications. Additionally, the lens features a 25 nm typical Wave Front Error and will be available with three different coating options: Arctic 16F0 (Visible AR coating), Arctic 16F1 (Near Infrared AR coating), and Arctic 16F9 (no AR coating).
