VisualApplets, the graphical development environment for individual FPGA programming from Silicon Software, features the new extension, VisualApplets Expert, which is designed to provide a range of advanced functions for experienced users. VisualApplets Expert now include three new function areas: the new Custom Operator function, as well as libraries for debugging and parameters.

With the Custom Operator functionality, users can continue to use their image processing modules (VHDL libraries), programmed in VHDL or Verilog, in VisualApplets as operators, thus preserving their preliminary work.

Debugging Library operators analyze both application designs and real runtime and custom operators still in development for programming errors, deadlocks, and bandwidth problems, and improve their stability.

Lastly, Parameters Library operators allow programmers to change parameters, even those embedded deep within hierarchical design structures. With this, changes users make to design parameters, such as resolution, are automatically, continually updated during runtime, even in protected hierarchical boxes.
