Taking place from September 6-8 at the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, the second European Machine Vision Forum will focus on the next generation of vision systems for industry, including novel modes of image acquisition, new hardware platforms, and advanced algorithms in order to solve more complex tasks with less effort.

The European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) has issued a call for contributions for presentations (June 2 deadline), posters, hardware, and software demonstrations (August 11) deadline. The preliminary program, with open slots for contributed talks, has been released by the EMVA. Session topics include:

  • Panel discussion on "next generation vision systems"
  • Novel image acquisition techniques and computational imaging
  • Platforms, programming, integration (Industry 4.0)
  • Image processing algorithms and machine learning
  • Poster and demo teasers to Session III

Hosted by the AIT Austrian Institute for Technology and the Heidelberg Collaboratory for Image Processing, the event aims to foster interaction between the machine vision industry and academic research to learn from each other, discuss the newest research results relevant for industry as well as problems from applications, learn about emerging application fields, and to discuss research cooperation between industry and academic institutes. The event targets scientists, development engineers, software and hardware engineers, and programmers both from research and industry.
