Targeting both indoor and outdoor applications such as ballistics and munition testing and impact studies, the new color version of the SIR3 high-speed camera from Specialised Imaging can capture up to 11 MPixel images in 36-bit color. The camera uses input from two separate sensors, along with SureShot real-time hardware, in order to enable reliable image capture of high-speed objects, according to the company. The IP54-compliant camera also features and optical viewfinder for image focusing and framing, while also maintaining the possibility of electronic focusing using an external thin-film transistor monitor and focus button. Additionally, all imaging functions of the color SIR3 can be controlled over standard GigE interface, while accompanying software provides control of imaging parameters and measurement tools for analysis.
