Panomorph optics find automotive applications

ImmerVision (Montreal, QC, Canada) has signed a licensing agreement with Samsung Electro-Mechanics (Seoul, Korea) to produce and commercialize panomorph optics for the automotive market.

ImmerVision (Montreal, QC, Canada; www.immervision.com) has signed a licensing agreement with Samsung Electro-Mechanics (Seoul, Korea; www.sem.samsung.com) to produce and commercialize panomorph optics for the automotive market. This agreement follows collaboration between the two companies since 2008, including successful tests conducted by Samsung Electro-Mechanics to finalize an automotive camera module embedded with a panomorph optic.

Automotive and transportation applications are among the largest and fastest growing markets for vision sensors. ImmerVision’s panomorph technology provides increased resolution in the covered area (more than 180°) and simultaneous imaging of multiple views with one camera. The panomorph lens is designed to fit any vision sensor, enabling it to meet the strict requirements of the automotive industry.
