Instead of looking at 2D images of an apartment, house or office space, Floored uses 3D camera technology and software to create customizable 3D real estate models. The idea is to provide an interactive experience that allows the user to easily move around in real-time, add furniture, and determine whether a space is a potential fit for them.
Floored uses the 3D device Matterport, which incorporates the Microsoft Kinect with a proprietary device, to capture 3D images of interior spaces. Floored cleans up the data provided by Matterport and renders results in real time for the web and its iPad app. The entire process takes 48 to 96 hours.
