The Hawk 252 cooled EMCCD camera released by Raptor Photonics features a back-illuminated sensor that enables imaging at <50 µlux, QE of <95% at 600 nm, GEN III image intensifier performance, and enhanced blue response from 180 nm for low light UV detection.

The camera features 1280 x 1024 resolution with an 8 µm pixel size, 55 dB dynamic range, spectral response from 180 to 1100 nm, and operating temperature range of -20° to 55° C.

The Hawk 252's cooling system is fanless, which according to the manufacturer makes the camera appropriate for airborne electro-optic payloads and discrete surveillance. The Hawk 252 uses a C-Mount lens mount with back focus capability.
