APRIL 30--Imaging Solutions Group of New York Inc. (ISG; Rochester, NY; www.isgchips.com/) has announced its alliance partnership with National Instruments (NI; www.ni.com/nati). The National Instruments Alliance Program is a worldwide network of more than 600 consultants, system integrators, developers, channel partners, and industry experts who partner with NI to provide complete, high-quality virtual instrumentation solutions to customers. ISG works closely with NI, its vision system integrators, and developers to optimize customer vision applications.

The Imaging Solutions Group designs and manufactures compact, high-performance cameras for a variety of applications, including security, machine vision, military, and surveillance/reconnaissance. The ISG LightWise cameras, like all ISG cameras, support the industry standard IEEE-1394 IIDC DCAM Specification version 1.3. The cameras have been tested and verified to work with industry-leading software such as National Instruments software and hardware.

ISG LightWise Cameras interface to the NI software and hardware through the NIMAQ for IEEE 1394 driver software for FireWire cameras. The National Instruments NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 offers a mobile, easy-to-use solution for acquiring images from ISG LightWise FireWire cameras. The driver software integrates with NI Measurement & Automation Explorer, so you can easily configure your ISG LightWise FireWire camera. You can also quickly set up your system by connecting an ISG LightWise FireWire camera to your computer and immediately begin acquiring images. With a set of easy-to-use programs, you can quickly create applications in LabVIEW or Measurement Studio by creating VIs or directly accessing the C library functions.

ISG LightWise FireWire cameras have been tested with the NI Compact Vision Systems. The NI CVS-145x Rugged Systems using ISG LightWise FireWire cameras Run LabVIEW Real-Time. This embedded high-performance processor unit increases inspection speed and vision applications. It has three FireWire camera inputs that can run three independent ISG LightWise cameras.
