APRIL 8--CEDIP Infrared Systems (Croissy-Beaubourg, France; www.cedip-infrared.com), developer of thermal IR technology, recently hosted a meeting for users of infrared camera systems from the French Army General Administration (DGA) who are dedicated to the applications of acquisition and measurement of IR signatures. Representatives from the CEAT (Toulouse), the ETCA (Paris), the ETAS (Angers), the CTSN (Toulon), the CEV (Cazeaux), the CAEPE (Saint Medard en Jalles), and the ONERA (Palaiseau) attended a day of presentations and discussions.

Presentations introduced new multispectral cameras (ORION and SILVER) recently launched by CEDIP and discussed new products under development. Pierre Potet, president, commented, 'Feedback from the assembled users has permitted CEDIP to better understand user expectations, particularly in terms of metrology and measurement analysis.' He added, 'The users have given us a deeper insight into the operational experimental requirements of IR cameras used for acquisition and measurement of IR signatures.'

During the last five years, CEDIP has installed more than 15 IR camera systems that are being used to measure infrared signatures in the test centers of the DGA and the ONERA. For further information on IR cameras for security and surveillance applications, contact CEDIP Infrared Systems.
