Digital camera makerPoint Grey Research (Richmond, BC, Canada) has added 15,000 square feet to its Canadian headquarters to increase manufacturing capacity and accommodate a warehousing facility. The ISO 9001:2008 certified facility is now a total of 55,000 sq feet.
The expansion allows Point Grey to meet growing demand for its USB 3.0, GigE camera, and FireWire lines. The production area has doubled in size, enabling an immediate increase in production capacity and the integration of new equipment.
"This latest expansion allows us to meet our forecasted demand as well as lay foundations for year-over-year capacity growth for the foreseeable future," says Rod Barman, Point Grey President and Director of Engineering.
Point Grey currently employs over 160 people and has offices in Germany, China, Japan and Italy. The company also has a network of distributors in Japan, Korea, Singapore, China, Taiwan and the UK.
