Edmund Optics has introduced its latest TECHSPEC lenses, the IG6 infrared aspheric lenses, which are designed for use in infrared lasers, thermal imaging, FTIR spectroscopy, and optical systems with performance in the infrared wavelength. The lenses are made of IG6, a germanium-free chalcogenide material comprised of elements arsenic and selenium. IG6, a widely recognized equivalent material for AMTIR-51, features transmission, minimal dispersion, and low dn/dt, which is the change in refractive index with temperature. Four models of IG6 IR lenses are available, including a 25 mm diameter model with focal lengths of12.5 mm to 25 mm, and a 50 mm diameter model with focal lengths from 25 mm to 50 mm.
