Knight Optical launches range of Germanium optical components

Jan. 6, 2014
Knight Optical has released a new range of stock and custom Germanium windows, lenses, and blanks aimed at CCTV and thermal imaging applications, including hot-spot detection in defense applications and night vision systems.

Knight Optical has released a new range of stock and custom Germanium windows, lenses, and blanks aimed at CCTV and thermal imaging applications. Germanium is a hard high-density infrared transmitting material that blocks UV and VIS wavelengths. With a low optical dispersion (transmitting between 2-14µm), Germanium is highly suited for use in thermal imaging and hot-spot detection in defense applications and night vision systems. Knight Optical will showcase these Germanium optical components at SPIE Photonics West 2014 in San Francisco from February 1-6.
