SICK has released the ScanningRuler 3D camera, which is designed for the 3D imaging of stationary objects and enables robotic systems to locate parts in advanced picking applications

SICK has released the ScanningRuler 3D camera, which is designed for the 3D imaging of stationary objects and enables robotic systems to locate parts in advanced picking applications. The 756 x 512 pixel camera features a CMOS image sensor, built-in class 2M red light laser, GigE interface, and Ranger Studio configuration software. The ScanningRuler captured point cloud 3D data with grayscale information and features factory-calibrated 3D measurements for easy integration, use, and replacement. In addition, it features rugged IP65 aluminum housing, an operating temperature range of 0°F to 104°F (0°C to 40°C), and external triggering capabilities. ScanningRuler 3D cameras are suitable for use in robotic factory automation applications.
