Point Grey has released two new models to its Blackfly family of compact GigE Vision cameras, the BFLY-PGE-20E4 and the BFLY-PGE-12A2. The BFLY-PGE-12A2 camera features a 1/3" 1.2 MPixel CMOS image sensor from Aptina and achieves a frame rate of 50 fps. The BFLY-PGE-20E4 camera features a 1/1.8" 2 MPixel CMOS image sensor from e2v and achieves a frame rate of 47 fps. These new Blackfly cameras support cable lengths up to 100 meters and are compatible with third-party imaging software and libraries via the GigE Vision standard. In addition, the cameras feature Power over Ethernet, in-field updatable firmware, color interpolation, and look up table and gamma. Blackfly cameras are suitable for use in machine vision and factory automation applications.
