EMVA issues last call for 2014 Young Professional machine vision award

The European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) has issued a last call for papers for the 2014 EMVA Young Professional award for machine vision innovation in the association’s March newsletter.

The European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) has issued a last call for papers for the 2014 EMVA Young Professional award for machine vision innovation in the association’s March newsletter.

Given annually, the award honors the innovative work of a student or young professional in the field of machine vision or image processing. It is also given to encourage students to focus on challenges in the field of machine vision and apply the latest research results and findings in computer vision to the practical needs of the ever-growing vision industry. The criteria of the work presented for award consideration include:

  • Outstanding innovative work in the field of vision technology with industrial relevance.
  • Work must have been completed within the last 12 months by a student or young research during their education (student may have entered the professional field after the completion of the work.)

The EMVA Young Professional Award for 2013 was presented to Ruud Barth (pictured with Toni Ventura, EMVA President), computer vision scientist at Wageningen University and Research Center in Wageningen, Netherlands for his computer vision application for the automatic registration, recognition, and analysis of broccoli for robotized harvesting.
