SICK introduces 2D ranging laser scanner

SICK has announced the release of the TIM551 2D laser scanner, which uses time of flight technology to provide object detection and measurement capabilities.

SICK has announced the release of the TIM551 2Dlaser scanner, which uses time of flight technology to provide object detection and measurement capabilities. The IP67-rated indoor/outdoor scanner features a USB and Ethernet interface, a 270° field of view, an operating range of 0.05m to 10m, a total monitoring area of 235 square meters, a scanning frequency of 15 Hz, and an 850 nm infrared light source. With a height of 86 mm, the TIM551 scanner can be integrated into a wide range of indoor or outdoor applications with limited space, such as those in robotics, building automation, mobile vehicle, and factory automation applications.
