The encoder supports DVI, component, and composite video inputs and audio is optionally captured from analog line input, compressed and multiplexed into transport stream. The USB bus-powered device features H.264 video compression, which produces an MPEG transport stream or in MP4 or AVI file formats, and also features a software development kit for Windows, Linux, and OS X. The Model 2263S—which is controlled using a video API (DirectShow or Video4Linux)—is suitable for use in video pipeline inspection, radar and sonar processing, remote video surveillance, and traffic monitoring applications.
