Point Grey has announced the availability of a new Blackfly GigE Vision camera, the BFLY-PGE-23S6, which is available in both color and monochrome versions. The camera features Sony’s new 2.3 MPixel IMX249 CMOS image sensor, a 1/1.2” global shutter sensor with a 5.86 µm pixel size that is capable of streaming 1920 x 1200 images at 41 fps. The sensor combines Sony Exmor technology with Pregius technology, which uses an analog memory pixel design that enables global shutter and low read noise. The IMX249 offers thesame optical format, pixel size and imaging performance as the Sony IMX174, and supports many features required for industrial, scientific and traffic applications, such as high-speed triggering and region of interest functionality.
