After securing a number of significant business agreements last year,Robotic Vision Technologies (RVT), expects to broaden its horizons and see growth in 2015 and beyond.

RVT entered into arrangements with three different organizations last year. These include Intellectual Ventures, Jacobs Technology, Inc., and LUSTER LightTech Group.

"We've opened new avenues for our software and technologies in multiple markets around the world," CEO and Founder Rick Weidinger said. "It is our expectation that being associated with Intellectual Ventures, Jacobs and LUSTER will expand our impact inmachine vision technology in general. Together, we can make a contribution to this growing industry."

Intellectual Ventures, a private global patent monetization company, played a key role in RVT’s building of business relationships in China. The company has a global network of engineers, scientists, and other inventors, and is working to develop new inventions for RVT in 2015. In 2014, Weidinger spoke at a Food and Health Innovation Summit in Beijing that was organized by Intellectual Ventures, and as a result, was able to meet a number of Chinese business leaders.

Intellectual Ventures also introduced Weidinger to LUSTER, which is a Beijing-based company that developsillumination, lenses, sensors, cameras, specified imaging modules, and 2D machine vision software. In this cooperative agreement, RVT will purchase hardware and services from LUSTER. RVT’s relationship with LUSTER allowed it to demonstrate its eVisionFactory single camera 3D systems at two robotic conferences in China in November.

"Our partnership could not be a better fit for both companies," Weidinger said.

Lastly, RVT aligned with Jacobs Technology, Inc. to provide global support and services. Jacobs Technology is the advanced technology division of Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., which had nearly $12 billion in revenues in 2013 and is one of the world’s leading engineering companies.
