Adept Technology introduces vision processor for industrial robots

Adept Technology, Inc. has announced the release of the Adept SmartVision MX vision processor, which is designed for fixed industrial robots and is optimized for use in factory automation environments.  

Adept Technology, Inc. has announced the release of the Adept SmartVision MX vision processor, which is designed for fixed industrial robots and is optimized for use in factory automation environments. The fanless processor features an Intel Core i7 processor, a solid-state hard drive, 8 GB DDR RAM, and runs on Windows Embedded Standard 7 (64-bit). It is compatible with a number of machine vision cameras that provide a wide range of resolution options (VGA to 4.2 MPixel) and is equipped with four GigE Power over Ethernet ports and four USB 3.0 ports, to accommodate up to eight cameras simultaneously. In addition, the SmartVision MX vision processor is loaded with Adept ACE Software, which offers an integrated, point-and-click development and simulation environment for Adept's complete portfolio of fixed industrial robots and controls.
