In the first quarterly newsletter update of the year, theAIA has released the Global Vision Standards Update, which provides a look into the latest news surrounding machine vision standards and the products that incorporate them.

Bob McCurrach, AIA Director, Standards Development first provided an update on Standards Activities at next week’sAutomate show. At this year’s event, there is a slight change in approach, as the AIA, along with the RIA and MCA, will each have a display area at the A3 Campus, located at booth 800 at the show. Within the AIA section, there will be two tables containing literature on all digital interface standards, a Camera Link HS demo provided by Matrox, and the USB3 Vision Technical Committee’s multi-camera demonstration.

In addition, there will be one meeting for allvision standards, which will be open to the Coordinating Committees and the public. During this first ever Vision Standards User’s group meeting, McCurrach will provide an overview of vision standards, highlighting the new standards brochure, and key members from each Technical Committee will provide a brief update on their standards, followed by a question and answer period.

Additional items of interest in the newsletter include:

  • The first Camera Link HS products were launched atVISION 2014 by Teledyne DALSA, Matrox, PCO, and Silicon Software
  • The Spring 2015 International Vision Standards Meetings are being hosted by Active Silicon from April 27- May 1 in London.
