At Automate 2015 in Chicago, Edmund Optics will showcase its Dynamic Focus VZM Lens, a liquid lens technology-enabled lens, which can seamlessly adjust focus while maintaining zoom capabilities, as compared to a traditional zoom imaging lens for variable depth imaging.

At Automate 2015 in Chicago,Edmund Optics will showcase its Dynamic Focus VZM Lens, a liquid lens technology-enabled lens, which can seamlessly adjust focus while maintaining zoom capabilities, as compared to a traditional zoom imaging lens for variable depth imaging. The lenses (pictured) utilize an internal liquid lens and adjust focus over a 7X range, from 0.65X to 4.6X, while maintaining the zoom capabilities of the standard VZM zoom imaging lenses.

In addition, Edmund Optics also showcase the new TECHSPEC variable magnification lenses in both non-telecentric and telecentric versions. These lenses are suitable for use in applications that may require constant adjustment of a system’s field of view or to tune in an exact magnification, including semiconductor orelectronics inspection as well as factory automation. The company will also offer a number of daily tech talks that cover topics such as the importance of lens size, resolution vs. depth of field, and improving system performance.
