This year’s Automate show set new show and conference records with 18,115 international attendees having visited the show floor during March 23-26 in Chicago, according to the Association for Advancing Automation (A3).

Visitors from the United States and 72 other countries attended the A3 event. In addition, nearly 600 people participated in the conference.
"All of our statistics increased significantly from the last Automate show in 2013," said Jeff Burnstein, President of A3. "The exhibition was 76% larger, total number of show attendees jumped 61%, and conference participants grew 63% over our 2013 results. This growth demonstrates that there is an increasing need for an event like Automate that provides practical, real-world solutions for companies currently automating or considering automation."
Burnstein also noted that the strong international participation at the show reflects the rise of automation on a global level.
"Automate has become a truly international event; we were very happy to host the 46th International Symposium on Robotics (ISR) in conjunction with Automate and plan to continue that relationship in 2017 when Automate returns to Chicago."
For the Vision Systems Design staff, the show was also enormously successful. We were able to see firsthand some of the latest, most innovative technologies in the world of vision and automation, while networking with many faces, both familiar and new. Furthermore, Automate was the site where we celebrated our first annual Innovators Awards program. In the exhibitor’s lounge on the show floor, we held a reception, where many representatives from companies at the show were on hand to accept their awards from Andrew Wilson, Editor-in-Chief of Vision Systems Design.
