Read about some update announced in the latest UKIVA Vision in Actiion newsletter, including the appointment of a new chairman, the addition of new members to the group, and a committee structure change.

In the spring UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA) Vision in Action newsletter, the association made a number of announcements, including the appointment of a new chairman, the addition of new members to the group, and a committee structure change.

Mark Williamson, STEMMER IMAGING, stepped down from his position as Chairman of UKIVA, which he held for 13 years, giving way to new chairman Ian Alderton from Alrad Imaging. In addition, Paul Wilson from Scorpion Vision was appointed as vice chairman of the group. UKIVA also established a new structure that sets up a succession plan for the committee, as the chair and vice chair are now both elected for a two-year tenure, with the vice chair taking on the top role at the end of the tenure, leading to a four-year cycle.

In addition to the election, the UKIVA committee was also restructured. Paul Cunningham (Acrovision), Stewart Jackson (Bytronic Automation), Allan Anderson (Clearview Imaging), and John Larsson (Scandinavian Machine Vision) were elected to join the newly-elected chair and vice chair, along with Julian Parfitt (FRAMOS), Lynne Potter (Multipix Imaging), and Mark Williamson (STEMMER IMAGING).

“With a number of new members joining the association, we felt it was the right time to restructure the committee and to get some of the newer members involved,” said outgoing chairman Mark Williamson.

Lastly, UKIVA also announced the addition of two new members to the fold. The first addition, ifm electronic, is a company that develops, produces, and sells sensors, controllers, and systems for industrial automation worldwide, and is also a supplier of vision systems, including 2D and 3D sensors, and cameras. The other new addition, The Config Team, is a specialist SAP consultancy and producer of CodingControl, a SAP-certified software platform that connects vision systems, coders, and labelers to SAP ERP systems to eliminate coding errors.
